Create Your Podcast
Your podcast is your brand on PodcasterPlus. This is where you set up the details that appear in podcast directories like Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
What You'll Need
- Podcast title: the name of your show
- Description: a compelling summary (2 to 3 sentences work well)
- Category: your show's home in podcast directories
- Author or host name: your name or the show's name
Artwork can wait
You can upload cover artwork during creation or add it later in Podcast Settings. Focus on the basics first.
Steps
1. Start creating
From your dashboard, click Create Podcast.
2. Choose how to host your podcast
The first question is How do you host this podcast? Pick one of two cards:
- Host with us: PodcasterPlus hosts your audio files and generates your RSS feed. Everything in one place. Choose this for a new show.
- Connect existing feed: keep your current host and use PodcasterPlus for booking, automation, and collaboration. Choose this if your show already lives at another host and you want to keep it there. See Externally Hosted Shows for how this works.
If you pick Connect existing feed, enter your RSS Feed URL under Connect Your Feed and click Import. Your show's details are pulled from the feed for you to review.
Migrating from another host?
There's a third option: move your whole show, back catalogue included, to PodcasterPlus hosting. Pick Host with us here, then follow Import Your Podcast.
3. Enter basic information
Fill in the Basic Information section:
| Field | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Podcast Title | The name of your show as it appears in podcast apps (required) |
| URL Slug | Your show's web address; suggested automatically from the title |
| Description | What your podcast is about (up to 4,000 characters) |
| Author / Host | Your name or show name |
| Copyright | A copyright notice, for example "© 2026 Your Name" |
| Website URL | A link to your podcast website |
Writing a great description
Mention what topics you cover, who your podcast is for, and what listeners can expect. This helps people find your show in search results.
4. Classify your show
In the Classification section:
- Pick a Category from the dropdown. Available categories: Arts, Business, Comedy, Education, Fiction, Government, Health & Fitness, History, Kids & Family, Leisure, Music, News, Religion & Spirituality, Science, Society & Culture, Sports, Technology, True Crime, and TV & Film.
- Pick a Subcategory if your category offers them. Some, like Technology, don't have any, and that's normal.
- Set your Language (defaults to English).
- Turn on Explicit Content if your show contains explicit language or adult themes. Podcast apps use this to show the E badge.
5. Create your podcast
Click Create Podcast at the bottom of the form. You'll land on your new podcast's dashboard.
You start with ready-made content
Every new podcast comes seeded with starter email templates, a show notes template, and three starter automations. See Starter Templates and Automations.
