Episodes
Episodes are the heart of your podcast. This section covers everything from creating your first episode to advanced workflows like AI transcripts and externally hosted shows.
New to PodcasterPlus?
Start here, in order:
- Create an Episode: create an episode and take a tour of the five-tab editor
- Upload Audio: add the audio your listeners will hear
- Publishing and Scheduling: put the episode live, now or on a schedule
If you haven't published anything yet, the Publish Your First Episode walkthrough covers the whole journey in one guide.
Going deeper
Once the basics feel familiar, these guides unlock the rest of the toolkit:
- Show Notes: write prep notes together with co-hosts and guests, in real time
- People and Credits: manage who collaborates on an episode and who is credited in your feed
- Transcripts: generate an AI transcript, edit it, and publish it to your feed
- Episode Cover Art: give an episode its own artwork
- Episode Archive: search, filter, and manage your episode list
- Share and Embed: share listen links and embed the player on any website
- Externally Hosted Shows: keep your current host and still use PodcasterPlus tools
Episode statuses
Every episode moves through a simple lifecycle. You'll see these statuses across the episode list and the editor:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending Confirmation | A guest booked a recording slot and the episode is waiting for you to confirm or decline the booking |
| Draft | Created but not yet published; edit freely |
| Scheduled | Set to go live automatically at a date and time you chose |
| Published | Live in your feed and available to listeners |
| Archived | Removed from your feed but kept in your account, ready to republish |
Episodes you create yourself start as drafts. Episodes created by a guest booking start as Pending Confirmation until you confirm them. See Episode Archive for how to triage pending bookings, and Publishing and Scheduling for the full set of status actions.
