Guests
PodcasterPlus treats guests as collaborators, not just calendar entries. Every guest you invite gets a private portal for their episode where they can see the recording details, contribute to show notes, and chat with you. Guests never need to create an account or remember a password.
What Guest Management Gives You
- A guest directory: the Guests page in your podcast navigation lists every guest across all your episodes, with their status and episode history
- Secure invitations: guests verify their email with a one-time link, so only the person you invited can open the portal
- The guest portal: a shared workspace with the recording link, collaborative show notes, and episode chat
- Episode messaging: real-time chat with everyone on an episode, including guests
- The Guest Network: a directory of people who want to appear on podcasts, searchable from your dashboard
Guest Records and Guest Network Profiles
These are two different things, and it helps to know which one you're looking at.
A guest record is yours. Open Guests in your podcast navigation and click anyone to see it. It covers this podcast only, the guest never sees it, and it holds:
- Episode queue: every invitation this podcast has issued to them, with access status, when they were invited, when they last opened the portal, and their verification link
- Reputation: your private rating and your public endorsement (admins and owners only). See Rate and Endorse Guests
- Host notes: your own name, notes, and bio for this person, private to your team (admins and owners only). Click Edit to change them, then Save notes
- Guest Network profile: their own public details mirrored in, read-only. If they have no profile, this card explains why instead of disappearing
The header also carries a More actions menu, for copying the guest's email address or opening a new message to them.
Two things to know about Host notes
Display name behaves differently depending on whether the guest has an account. The card tells you which case you're in.
- They have a PodcasterPlus account: they own their own name. If they rename their profile, that name replaces what you set here everywhere in this podcast, including episode credits in your feed.
- They have no account: what you type applies to your guest directory and to any new invitation you send. It does not rewrite names already recorded on past episodes, so credits already in your feed keep the name they were given at the time.
Your bio for them stays on the record. It is visible to your team and to any AI assistant you have connected through the MCP server. Show notes and automations do not use it: the {{guest_bio}} magic tag reads the guest's own profile bio, which needs an account.
A Guest Network profile is theirs. It spans every podcast, only they can change it, and it exists only once someone has an account and has switched on discoverability. See Guest Network.
A guest added from a booking form has a record with you and no profile at all, which is perfectly normal.
