Starter Templates and Automations

Every new podcast comes with ready-made content, so the most common guest emails and show notes work from day one. You'll spot these items by their Starter badge.

What you get

Three starter automations

AutomationWhat it does
Send booking confirmation emailEmails your guest their recording details as soon as you confirm a booking
Recording reminder — 24 hours beforeSends your guest a friendly reminder with the meeting link the day before your recording
Thank your guest when the episode publishesLets every guest on an episode know the moment it goes live, with a link they can share

Find them under Automations in your podcast's sidebar.

Starter templates

The starter automations send their emails using matching starter email templates, and there's a Standard Show Notes template that gives new episodes a ready show notes layout. Find them under Templates.

Starters are off until you switch them on

Starter automations arrive switched off. To activate one:

  1. Go to Automations in your podcast's sidebar
  2. Find the starter you want and flip its switch

An automation only counts toward your plan's automation allowance while it is active. Switch one off and it stops counting.

On the Free plan?

The Free plan doesn't include active automations, so you can see the starters but not switch them on. Upgrading unlocks them instantly. See Billing and Plans.

Starter templates are different: they never count toward your template allowance at all.

Make them your own

Starters use magic tags like {guest_first_name} and {episode_title}, so the same template writes a personal email for every guest. You can:

  • Edit the templates under Templates to match your voice
  • Open a starter automation in the flow builder to change when it fires or what it sends

Deleted a starter and want it back?

On the Automations page, click Add starter automations. It restores the starter set for this podcast and never creates duplicates.
