Rate and Endorse Guests ​

After a guest appears on a published episode, your podcast can do two things on their behalf: rate them privately, and write a public endorsement for their Guest Network profile. Both live in the Reputation card on the guest's page in your podcast's guest directory.

You need the admin or owner role on the podcast to rate or endorse. The guest must have appeared on at least one published episode of your show. Until then the card shows a Locked state and explains what unlocks it, rather than offering controls that would be refused.

The two halves share one card because they unlock together, but they are not the same kind of thing. Your rating is private to your team. The endorsement is public and belongs to the guest, which is why nothing shows on their profile until they approve it.

Rate a Guest Privately ​

Ratings power the anonymous quality signals in the Guest Network. Your podcast's rating is visible only to your own podcast's admins (that's how you can see and change it below) and to platform staff handling disputes. The guest and other podcasts never see an individual rating or who gave it.

  1. Open your podcast's Guests page and click the guest
  2. In the Reputation card, under Your podcast's rating, click a star from 1 to 5
  3. The rating saves immediately, and you can click a different star any time to change it
  4. Click Remove to withdraw your podcast's rating entirely

One rating per podcast per guest: rating the same guest again replaces your podcast's previous rating rather than adding another. Repeat appearances do not multiply the weight of your rating. That signal is captured separately by the Invited back badge.

If enough podcasts rate a guest, an anonymous aggregate can appear on their Guest Network profile, but only when the guest turns that on themselves.

Write an Endorsement ​

An endorsement is a short public quote (up to 280 characters) shown on the guest's profile with your name and podcast attached. Nothing displays until the guest approves it.

  1. Open the guest's page and find the Reputation card
  2. Under Public endorsement, click Write an endorsement. The composer opens in a panel beside the page
  3. Write your quote and click Send for approval

The endorsement status shows as a pill in the card, with a dated line under the quote:

  • Awaiting guest approval: sent, not yet displayed. The line names the date you sent it
  • Live on their profile: approved and showing in the Guest Network. The line names the date the guest approved it, not the date you last edited it
  • Approved, hidden by guest: the guest approved it but is currently hiding it
  • Declined by guest: the guest chose not to display it
  • Removed by moderation: removed by PodcasterPlus after a report

Your podcast can have one active endorsement per guest. Editing it with Edit sends it back for the guest to re-approve, so an approved quote can never change silently. Retract withdraws it entirely, after which you can write a new one.

If the guest declined a previous endorsement, the card tells you before you write another. A rewritten endorsement after a decline does not notify the guest again.

Endorse a Guest Without an Account ​

You can endorse a guest who has not created a PodcasterPlus account yet. The endorsement waits unpublished, and the guest receives a single claim email inviting them to create a free account, review your words, and decide whether they display. See Create a Free Account.

The Badges in the Guest Network ​

Profiles and directory cards can carry two reputation badges:

  • Highly rated: at least 3 different podcasts have rated the guest, their average is high, and the guest has chosen to display rating signals
  • Invited back: at least one podcast has had the guest on two or more published episodes

A profile can also show a rating aggregate (an average and a rough count such as "rated by 3+ shows") when the guest opts in. Below 3 rating podcasts, nothing rating-related displays at all, so a profile without badges simply has no signal yet. It never means the guest rated poorly.

You can filter the directory by these signals with the Highly rated and Has endorsements buttons under the search box.

Report an Endorsement ​

If an endorsement on someone's profile looks fake, abusive, or misleading, click Report beneath it, describe the problem, and click Submit report. The PodcasterPlus team reviews every report and can remove the endorsement.
