Booking links that only schedule a meeting
Not every booking is a recording. A general link books the meeting and stops there, with no episode created and none used up.
Booking links have always assumed the thing being booked was a recording. Every confirmed booking created a draft episode, a guest portal and a prep checklist, which is right when you are booking a guest onto a show and unhelpful when you are not.
A booking link now has a mode. Episode booking is the default and behaves exactly as it always has, so nothing about your existing links changes. General booking schedules the meeting and stops there.
A general booking does not:
- create a draft episode in your queue
- give the person a guest portal, prep questions or show notes
- use up one of the episodes included in your plan
That last one is the difference if you take a lot of calls. Sales conversations, pre-interviews, coaching sessions and intro chats now cost you a slot in your calendar rather than an episode.
The wording follows the mode as well, so a general booking asks to schedule a meeting rather than a recording, in the form the guest fills in, the confirmation email and the calendar invite.
